About Pippa (Special Needs)
Hi my name is Pippa and I am almost 13 years old.
I was loved once, by my previous owner. Sadly he could no longer look after me as he was elderly and could no longer provide me the medical attention that I needed. When I came into CRQ I was not in the best health and had been suffering a bit.
Sadly he passed away and I was with him till the end. I grieved for such a long time after he left however I am now doing better and have become a happier and playful dog.
I am a very gentle and loving dog. I get along so well with my foster siblings and love nothing more than going for walks. Even though I have some medical issues which you can read below, I am fun loving and a sweet old girl.

Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heart worm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Pippa has Cushings Disease which is controlled by a good quality diet and medication daily. Since being on the medication, she is a much happier and lively little dog who enjoys life. She has also had a dental surgery as she had severe dental disease.
Adoption details
The first step to adopting a dog from us is to fill out an expression of interest form.
We encourage you to provide as much detail as possible about your family and your home as this helps us make sure we match you with the most suitable dog.

Please note: we do not organise any meet and greet without a completed expression of interest form.
Our adoption process involves:
1) Completing online application form
2) Arranging a meet and greet with the dogs foster carer, after which we ask you to take 24 hours to make a decision about whether you want to adopt this dog
3) A brief home visit and yard check from one of our volunteers
4) Adoption trial spanning four weeks.
We ask that you pay the dogs adoption fee at the beginning of the adoption trial, however this will be refunded if for any reason the dog is not working out in your home within the four week period. We offer a four week adoption trial to make sure that you have plenty of time for your new dog to settle into your home and so we can offer you full support during this period and beyond.
We offer a free health check with our vets at Indooroopilly or Chermside vet clinic after you’ve adopted your dog and every dog in our care is up to date with all vet work.
