The Awesome Foursome from Phillip Island are ready for adoption! Born on the 6th of June, The Boys will be 15 weeks old on Saturday. All these pups sit, both on command and when they greet Me. They come to me when I call them. When given a stern NO they run to my feet and sit for praise. They also understand that a squirt from the squirt bottle means that they are doing something wrong, big bad wrong, they stop and listen and end up at your feet in a sit position looking to be praised or rewarded.
The boys are used to wearing collars and have had a little bit of lead work.
They understand Wees and Poos outside but are not yet toilet trained.
They are not bitey, jumpy, scratchy pups, they know better than to behave like that.
The pups know, understand and respond to many more commands than already mentioned; for instance back, inside, outside, Ahh Ahh, listen plus quite a few more. However their favourite to hear by far, the words they love to hear the most, are Good Puppy, they actually all smile it's really very cute and yes generally it's accompanied by another sit so they get more positive encouragement.
In my opinion training is essential for all dogs. At this age pups are just a sponge, ready, willing and able to soak up heaps, they so want to please that training is actually quite easy. When you train your dog it is a fabulous way to bond and can be a very rewarding, satisfying experience too. Another benefit is that you are always working on and hopefully improving your dogs socialisation skills whilst there.
