About Roo
Roo is a beautifully gentle, extra-special girl... not only was she one of the first dogs ever taken in at Maggie's, but she also has a metal plate in her hip from when she broke it as a youngster. It doesn’t affect her movement at all - just like her namesake, 'Kanga' Roo can run and jump with the best of them!
Roo is good with kids and is one of the most polite dogs you’ll ever meet. She doesn’t bark or jump up, she sits patiently for her food and won’t get on the couch or bed unless invited.
Roo has all the basics down such as sit, stay, drop and pat. Being an inside/outside dog, she's fully toilet trained. A homebody at heart, she is mostly great on the lead but sometimes pulls a little if she knows her comfy bed and food bowl are just around the corner!
MY IDEAL HOME: I love people, but I'm also an independent soul. When you're around I'll enjoy hanging out with you very much, but when you're at work I'll happily keep myself occupied.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Not especially high! Although I have fun on my walks, I only need one per day and I prefer it if they're not too long. 'Fetch' and 'catch' are fun, but I won't make you play for hours on end. :)
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I'm very gentle with children, and I don't jump up or bark. Please note though, if you're looking for a dog to wear the kids out, I'm not him! As above, I'm a cruisey sort of guy.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I'm pretty indifferent to both! A bit of a sniff and I'm on my way. I'm much more of a 'people' dog.

Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form at http://www.maggiesrescue.org/adoption-enquiry/. Please use this link rather than the 'find out more' button on the pet's PetRescue profile.
We will then organise a time for you to meet with the foster carer and the pet you are interested in adopting.
Maggie's wants this to be a good experience for you, and we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog as your situation may not meet the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of this period we will transfer the microchip to your details and the adoption is complete.
Your pet is a Maggie's Pet for Life, please consider this before adopting.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
