About Tammy ~(On Trial 29/9/15) Mini Foxy X
My name is Tammy, I am a 4 year old Mini Foxie X Tenterfield terrier. I love food, going for walks and snuggling, since coming into my foster care I am loving life and becoming so much more confident. I love snuggling on laps as they are so comfy.
I am a great watch dog, I don’t bark much at all but I let my foster family know when there is someone at the door before they can hear anything. I am just the best car traveller too. I usually just nod off for a nap until we get to our destination.
I also sleep through the night when once I am tucked into bed and I like a bit of a sleep in. I am currently sleeping in my own bed beside my foster mum’s but I am more than willing to share yours.
I was very timid when I first arrived at my foster parent’s home and would run at the sound of a leaf blowing in the wind but with love and kindness have slowly become more confident in my surroundings. They have been introducing me to new sounds and going for walks and meeting new people. \ There are still a few things that scare me some including bigger dogs and small children.
My foster mum thinks that I had never been inside before coming into care and I was not toilet trained. I love living inside now! And I am mostly very good with my toilet habits though I do have the occasional accident inside when it is raining and storming. There is a doggy door that I can come and go inside as I please as I will sit outside enjoying the sun when the weather is a nice day and then I can come back in whenever I like. \
I also love going for a walk! I didn’t at first as because of all the noises and strange smells but now I really love getting out and about. I do still get startled sometimes we there is a new or loud noise but I can move on past it now. As I am only four years old I will need to go for daily walks.
My new family will need to be willing to work further on building my confidence.
The third eyelid on my right eye has a slight prolapse but does not yet need surgery but may do in the future.
I currently live with a female Maltese cross and a cat. I may be ok with another small dog but they would need to be very easy going. I can live with a friendly cat. I would be more than happy to have my own human who is home most of the time to enjoy my company.
Note from foster mum:
Although Tammy loves going for her walks she still has some issues with her harness, she just does not like getting one on or having it removed, her new family would need to be prepared to work with her on this. \ Along the same lines she does not like having anything on her including coats and jumpers.
She is booked in for basic training in October which has been paid for and if adopted before then we hope her new family will continue this.
She is a sweetie overall and would be lovely companion for someone home a lot but would not suit a household with young children.
For more information or to meet Tammy, please contact her foster carer Nicole on 0419 244 584 or email downunder90@hotmail.com. Tammy is in foster care in Kurri Kurri, NSW (near Cessnock) and is available for adoption interstate.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
