About Gracie
Gracie | Black & White Husky | 2 years old.
Gracie is a very sweet natured girl who loves nothing more than to play! She can be in play mode for hours at a time and doesn’t matter if it’s indoors or out, it makes no difference!
Whilst on walks she loves to stop and smell the flowers – Literally! And generally will not let her human continue walking along until she is done sniffing the flowers which have bloomed for the Spring. She’s good on the lead, slight pull but with some reinforcement she understands the concept of slowing down from time to time. She is very obedient when it comes to crossings and will happily sit on command to wait until clear to cross the road. She LOVES the dog park and during car rides she is a dream, content sitting/laying there looking at her surroundings, once at the dog park her true playful personality really shines through – she will play with anyone!
She is predominantly on a dry food diet with the exception of a red meat servings (mixed with vegies and rice) a couple of times a week. Again, very obedient whilst waiting for her meal and will sit and wait patiently until she is told she may eat. She is not a fussy eater, generally eats what is put in front of her and loves her treats and bananas! During dinner preparation time she likes to lay there and watch the activity happen and if she is in the way – she won’t move haha!
Gracie is a very smart cookie who knows her basic commands such as; “Sit, Stay & Shake”. She is a very quick learner (currently learning “speak”); she used to jump to greet her humans but after telling her not to do it once, she has never done it again! She started off sleeping on the outdoor table and after some direction on where she should sleep (her kennel), she hasn’t done it again – well…when she see’s her humans coming she quickly jumps off the table (cheeky bugger!).
She spends a lot of time indoors (mostly after 5pm) and then sleeps inside from 11pm -6am. She has proven to be house trained and can stay inside for hours at a time with no issue. She is learning about boundaries and learning very quickly that she can’t some upstairs unless asked so she waits at the bottom of the stairs which is really cute coming down to see. She speaks a lot after she hasn’t seen her humans for a while so there is normally a husky chorus of voices arriving home from work.
Gracie will be suited to a family with children of primary age and over to help keep her mind and activity levels stimulated and/ another canine companion so she isn’t alone during the work or school times.
