About Skyla
Skyla is a lovely affectionate cat. She came to me as a rescue from a high kill pound in New South Wales and she was pregnant. Her babies have all been vet worked and rehomed so now it's mum's turn!
She is very playful and loves pats- she will grab your hand with soft paws to get you to keep giving her neck and head scratches. She likes an appropriate amount of belly rubs ;) and when picked up will delicately touch your face with her paws and sniff your nose! She likes to play! She will chase toys, and pieces of paper, and toes under blankets. While playing she will grab your hand- she has never bitten me but does mouth your hand if you push your luck on the belly rub limit!
She is appropriately chatty and loves to be picked up.
She does like my dog and her tail quivers happily when he comes inside for a play session! When he gets a bit too forward she bops him on the nose... Which he thinks is playing so he goes right back for more. So if you have a cat friendly dog and are looking for a feline friend give me a call!
Her only flaw is that she HATES other cats. If you have another cat, or plan on getting another cat in the future, Skyla is not for you. I've tried to get her to get used to mine (crating in the living room, having her on a harness ) and she's just not a fan.
She is litter trained and has never had an accident. As you can see by the video she will walk on a harness and is not overly bothered by horses.
She has been an indoor cat (except for on lead outside) and hasn't displayed any desperate need to get outside. She has settled in to indoor life happily. As she is quite happy to tell other cats who's boss, she really should stay an indoor cat or have a contained run. She'll likely try her paw at ruling the neighborhood cats if she's allowed out and it would be a shame for her to get injured... or injure. :)
It is worth noting that she is a bigger cat at around 7kg. She is a tall, muscly girl (not fat).
She eats dry food exclusively (Hills Science Diet Healthy Weight). She tried some whiskers and had diarrhea so I'd recommend keeping her on the good stuff.
So! If you' re after a low maintenance indoor panther Skyla would love to meet you!
Medical notes
Desexed, microchipped and vaccinated.
