About Jewel
Hi everyone my name is Jewel and I would love to come home with you!
I was brought into the shelter by a inspector as my previous owners could no longer care for me. However I'm now ready for my forever home. I'm a sweet and independent girl who likes my own space but I also loves human company.
Being a working breed dog means that I am very active and very smart! I will need daily exercise as I have lots and lots of energy to burn. This can include long walks and playtime! I walk very nicely on the lead and love to stop and smell everything. I would also highly benefit from ongoing mental stimulation. I'm a very smart girl did you know that I can sit and shake? I love my food and would do just about anything for a treat which makes me very trainable.
I am quite independent in the sense that I doesn't seek out constant pats or playtime but I really do enjoy interaction when you initiate it. I can become stressed when I am left alone for long periods of time. It is very important that when I am left along that I am left with lots of things to keep me occupied. This can include toys kongs raw meaty bones and chew treats. As I mentioned before I absolutely love my food so this is a great way to keep me occupied!
I love my human companions however I am very unsure with how to interact around other dogs. \ They make me nervous so I would prefer to be the only dog in my new home. \ I also shouldn't be going to dog parks as well. Please ensure that your backyard is fully secure with at least 5ft colour bond fencing with no holes or gaps in the fence line that I could escape from!
I would make the perfect addition to the right family. If you would like to meet me please enquire about me at the front counter.
