Paslow ~ Cav King Charles (trial 23/9/15)

Paslow (or Pas as I call him), is a wonderful little 8 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He is just a delight to have around. He gets very excited when its walk time but is very good on the lead once you get going.

During the day, Pas follows my every move. He is a great helper dog. He comes out to the clothes line with me, gardening, sewing, anything I do he is there to help. His most favourite thing in the whole world is to snuggle with me on the couch. He is a huge snuggler. Oh and he snores. Yes he snuffles and snores (as do most cavaliers).

I have 3 other small dogs ranging in age from 2 yrs to 13 yrs, and little Pas is very well behaved with all of them, and occasionally plays with the youngest one. He is very good at meeting and living with other dogs, I don’t know about cats or chooks, but he is a very laid back boy, so I would expect him to get used to them. Pas is much more people orientated, and would rather spend his time with me than with his furry brothers and sisters. \

Pas came to us with a skin condition and ear infection, all of which is almost cleared up. He is so good at taking his tablet (I sit in on his food and he just munches it with the food), and he is good with having ear drops (although he is clever and if he is laying down will lay on one ear so you cant get it ). I have bathed him, picked him up, removed food from him and he has never shown any form of aggression whatsoever. Due to his skin problem, he will have to remain on a diet of fish only, no meat or chicken. Fish biscuits are easily obtainable from a large pet store and I mix them with fish and sometimes sardines, it isn’t a problem. Being a Cavalier, food is a main priority for Paslow. He gobbles his food down very quickly, then if he can, will sneak the others dinners too! Pas loves food so much, that at dinner time, he gets so excited, he dances in circles! He never fails to make me laugh with his little dance. If there is another dog in the house, he can tend to guard food if its left, so I don’t leave any biscuits out during the day.

This wonderful little bloke is housetrained and has never had an accident inside, and after we popped him through the doggie door once, he was set. He takes himself outside every time he needs to go toilet. He also takes his house guarding duty very seriously and will go outside and check the yard. He knows all his commands and will sit, and stay. He hasn’t shown much interest in toys, being more focused on me. Next to dinner time, Paslow’s best time of day is bedtime. Pas sleeps on the bed with me, but would also be happy on a bed on the floor near you. \ If you tell him to go on his bed he does. He is obviously and indoor dog.

The best home for this little man would be one where someone was home most of the time. He would be great for an older person or couple, but also loves gentle pats from kids. Another doggie would be good as when you are not home he will still have company. This little dog is looking for a special person to give him and receive from him, love, love and more love.
