About Maya
Maya has been enjoying the comforts of a foster home for several months but before that her life was not so easy.
She arrived at the RSPCA with multiple health and behavioural problems due to living most of her life as a breeding dog on a multi dog property.
She was suffering from dental infections mammary tumours and problems with her knees and was overwhelmed by everything that was happening to her.
After several surgeries to correct her medical problems and several months in foster learning how to be a proper pet dog Maya is now ready to find her own home. Her journey has been made easier by having one of her friends from her previous home with her. Faye is also a poodle and has also had several months of care to prepare her for adoption. She still has some ongoing health conditions but these will not stop her living a happy life in her older years.
Maya and Faye must be rehomed together as they are very dependent on each other.
They are looking for a home with a female owner as Maya is still fearful of men. They are also not suited to a home with children.
Maya and Faye both get along with other dogs and have also been introduced to cats.
Both girls have been under the care of RSPCA vets during their rehabilitation and their fearfulness and anxiety has been treated using medication. It is likely they will both require lifelong medical support to ensure they can adjust happily to a new home and to allow them to reach their full potential.
If you are interested in meeting Maya and Faye please call RSPCA Sydney ( Yagoona) 9770 7555 so we can discuss them with you further prior to meeting.
