Taz ~ Kelpie X (trial 18/10/15)

Meet Taz – a friendly six year old Kelpie cross who has been described as a “beauty of a dog” by people after meeting him. Being a working breed mix Taz is extremely intelligent and very trainable. Not only is he smart and obedient – he is affectionate and loves giving and receiving cuddles. Taz also likes to show off a little by shaking paws and dropping for praise or treats - this is one friendly guy who is eager to please you.

Taz is an inside/ outside dog – he’s happy to have a play and run in the yard during the day with time inside to spend with his family when they are at home and during the evenings. \ Taz has great manners when he is inside the house, he is house-trained, calm and very polite. He will sit and wait when you are preparing his food - waiting until he is told it’s OK to eat. He isn’t a fussy eater at all, and loves his treats.

Taz is at his most content when he is close to his family – he gets on well with other dogs he knows but he is more of a people focused dog. Taz has been in foster care with a couple of Labradors and he found them way too exuberant and silly – at 6 years old he’s not interested in their crazy shenanigans. Ideally Taz would love a furever family where he is an only dog so that he can spend more time with his most important person in the world – YOU!

Taz walks well on the lead, so he will love a home where he gets a walk each day. Taz is still quite playful and bouncy so he’s best suited with older kids or teenagers who have had dogs in the past. Being a kelpie he enjoys a short run so if you are a jogger he’s happy to join you on your jogs around the neighbourhood or at the beach and park. Taz loves to play fetch with you (and actually brings the ball back!) and he enjoys water and swimming too - he would be a great match for a family who lives close to a beach or lake. \
