Axel ~ border collie (trial 1/10/15)

Axel is a 2 year old, male, Border Collie. He loves people, especially children. He is completely unfazed by our three rowdy children including a pokey toddler, and our old cavoodle.

Axel is an incredibly smart dog and responds very well to positive reinforcement training. We have begun teaching him some manners and teaching him not to jump up on people for pats and kisses. He walks very well on a lead and is extremely friendly with other dogs of all shapes and sizes. He will "sit" and "wait" when asked and will hop in a bath even though he is a little scared of running water.

Axel is perfectly housetrained and will need a home where he is allowed inside. He has loads of energy to burn so he'll need a daily walk or run and a good sized yard. He needs high, secure fencing.

Axel has dog playmates and is friendly with other dogs that have good manners. He will tell rude dogs to go away; so he's not great with boisterous young dogs. If you have more than one dog then they should all have some simple, basic training such as "sit" and "wait" so that you can reward polite behaviour.

Axel has pink skin on top of his nose which could get sunburnt so he will need a yard with plenty of shade and sunscreen applied to his nose when going for a long walk on bright days.

If you have time to exercise and play with a dog then you could not get a more smart, happy, loving and gentle companion than Axel.
