About Sally (adopted 22/12/15)
Sally is an affectionate 1.5 year old medium-sized lovebug. Sally is microchipped as a Staghound x, however she has the lithe body of a greyhound and the scruffy face of a wolfie.
Sally is a head turner, with her long legs and greyhound-like walk she is a classy lady as she strolls by your side. And who can resist her gentle big doe-eyes and scruffy pretty face? Sally has both class and spunk - she is a fantastic combination of energy mixed with love and gentleness - the end result is a super sweet, super fun and super special girl
Sally absolutely loves people. She will become friends with anyone she meets. Sally is also very fond of men too - if you want a cuddly teddy-bear then Sally is just the pooch for you! She has lovely manners when she is in large groups of people - she will wander from person to person introducing herself - she is confident and charming and people instantly adore her.
Sally walks very well on lead which makes going for a walk a real pleasure. She is content to trot by your side and look to you to make sure she is pleasing you. If you are a jogger she'd love to join you on a run. She loves to meet dogs and people on her walk and she will show off her lovely manners with other dogs. Sally is a fan of doggy company - she loves dogs of all sizes and breeds. If you have a dog park or dog friendly beach near you then she will be in heaven playing . Sally adores playing with water at the beach or in paddle pools - she will even jump to catch the water at bubbling fountains. Given her breed mix, Sally will chase cats and pocket pets like guinea pigs and chickens so her furever home will need to be pocket pet free.
Sally's perfect family will be very affectionate and willing to show lots of love to their fur family members as she has so much love to give. She is very fond of kids of all ages and is very affectionate and gentle with them. She will give toddlers a lick and even 8 year olds can walk her she's so gentle. Sally would make a great addition to a young, active family or couple where there is someone home during the day. If you are retired, work from home or can take your dog to work, then Sally would happily accompany you anywhere you go.
Given her slender height and springy legs Sally will need 6 ft colour-bond fences to ensure she is safe and secure. Once she knows her family and home she is content to wait at home whilst you go to work - however until she is settled she may climb fences until she is familiar with her home base. At her carers home she will happily stay at home whilst they are out working for up to 8 hours - she will cover them in kisses as a welcome home gesture of love.
Sally would also suit inner city living in a semi or townhouse. Although she is energetic, she is great with a small yard as long as she gets a walk or light run each day. Sally thrives when she is included on family outings to the park, the beach or anywhere that she can meet others. She loves the car and is a pleasure to travel with, she will quietly watch the world out the window or lay down for a snooze.
At almost 1.5 years Sally is still young so she would love a family who are willing to spend quality time with her and extend her training so she can develop into a lovely and well-loved adult dog. She would love to go to doggy training and she would do well in doggy sports like Agility or Flyball.
If you feel your family can offer Miss Sally the love and attention she really deserves please contact Jo on 0427 695 104 (after hours) or email jo.payne.aus@hotmail.com. Sally is in foster care in Redfern Sydney.
Sally's adoption fee is $300 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Happy healthy active girl
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
