About Ellie (Child Friendly)
Ellie has had a litter pups previously, and was surrendered to Wally's Doggie Rescue along with her pups. Ellie did not have the best start to life, and was very under weight when she first came into care.
Ellie is a timid girl, when first meeting new people or dogs she can be quite frightened but once she realises that it is safe she will soon relax.
Sometimes when she meets new dogs she gets her hackles up but you can tell she is frightened and not at all in an aggressive manner. She loves our kids ( 11&7) but I don't think it would matter if there were kids in the family or not as she isn't overly playful.
She doesn't seem interested in the cat across the road and doesn't chase off the lorikeets on our balcony. She doesn't chew or dig at all.
She does crave attention as in just being around you, she would not suit being home on her own all day. Saying that I don't think it would matter if she had another dog for company or not. It's human attention she loves.
She sleeps inside and would not suit sleeping outside.
Ellie is fully toilet trained, great on the lead but even better off as she has fantastic recall. Very easy to train as she is food motivated but shows absolutely no food aggression. She is the easiest dog we have ever fostered and would be ideal in a fairly quiet house hold with owners that don't necessarily have any experience with dogs.
Ellie is in foster care in at Bateau Bay.
Medical notes
Healthy young female.
Adoption details
When enquiring about Ellie, please give us some indication of the type of home that she would have with you. We are interested in things such as other animals (past and present), children who may have contact with the dog, whether you own or rent your home, what opportunities for socialisation outside the home your dog would have, how much you/someone is home and most importantly, why you feel this dog may be suitable for you.
Wally's Dog Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family.
To kickstart my training, Wyong Dog Training Club will provide 3 FREE dog training sessions
http://wyongdogtrainingclub.org.au/. So please be sure to utilise this awesome gift which will benefit both you and Ellie.
Wally's Doggie Rescue likes all of our rescues to be adopted into families that will continue their socialisation and allow their dogs inside of the home on a regular basis to ensure that they are part of the family. This is particulary so if they are to be an only dog.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
