About Diggy ~ (trial 7/10/15)
Hi my name is DIGGY!!
I'd like to introduce myself. I'm a sweet little Pomeranian X Dachshund and I am 11 years young (although I can act more like I'm 5 when I play). My old owners said that I didn't like other dogs or cats but I've been nothing but a gentleman to my canine acquaintances and my feline foster sister. I do take a while to fully come out of my shell but once I do it’s like I’ve known you for a life time!
A little bit about my diet, although I'm not fussy when it comes to my food I am however apparently allergic to beef, so I do prefer a chicken based meal and treats.
I really love a nice walk around the block in the afternoon with my foster mum plus a nice little belly rub of an evening… even a nice little ride in the car too. I really do appreciate a good squeaky toy or small ball I can chase for fun in the backyard. \ I'd describe myself as a low key low maintenance dog. My coat if I don’t say so myself is quite nice! With a few brushes a week it will stay very soft and shiny!
Throughout the day I am happy to stay inside the house but I really would love the company of my family more. It would be ideal if someone was home with me most of the time to play with me as I do like the company. I would prefer if my new family were older or had teenage kids so they could spend their days with me. I wouldn't mind if I was an only pet so I would be the only one getting spoilt rotten but I would also be happy to have a canine or feline sibling too.
I don’t really take the guard dog duties too seriously... I will bark to let my family know someone has arrived but otherwise I am normally not a real big barker unless you play with me and my squeaky toy! I also believe I am pretty well-mannered and my foster mum thinks so too. She says I am also a real pleasure to walk!!
I just love my foster mum so much and do love her attention (when I want it) otherwise I am happy to do my own thing and play with my own toys and chew on a good bone. \ I currently sleep inside down the end of my mum’s bed. I am great with personal space and I am not a bed hog at all I promise. I do sometimes hop down and sleep on the spare bed as well but I am never to be left in the cold outside at night!!
Enough about me… I can't wait to meet you all real soon!

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
