Gemma ~ blue cattle dog (trial 17/10/15)

Gemma, purebred, blue cattle dog, 4 to 5 years old. Gemma is looking for her new forever home. You see she thought she had one, and it was a great home with loving, doting owners who adored her, but unfortunately her elderly owners passed away less than one year apart. This left Gemma on her own and seeking a new home.

Even though Gemma is a cattle dog she certainly doesn't act it. She loves her walk in the morning and gets excited when she sees her leash, but after her walk she is happy to just follow you around or sit at your feet and get those pats that she loves so much. She rarely barks (I know! a cattle dog that rarely barks!). Gemma has adapted extremely well from suburban dog to family farm dog (companion, not working) so she will do well in many different environments, so long as she has people that spend time with her in the evening. She is also losing weight as a result of now having more exercise and fewer treats.

Gemma is fine outside during the day because she has our other dogs for company. Then in the evening she comes inside to enjoy family time and to sleep inside. She is good with other dogs but is very people oriented and would fret if kept outside only.

Gemma is a little unsure of those noisy little humans called kids, but as long as they give her space then she is ok with them being around. She is currently living with 2 kids aged 6 and 8. She is currently on acreage with a sheep, chicken and horses. She seems a bit interested in the chooks but is ok with the sheep and the horses at the moment. She does chase cats though.

Gemma would need a secure yard for those times you may need to leave her on her own, even if there is another dog around. So if you think you have a place in your heart for Gemma then please send me an email. Please help us find this beautiful girl the home she deserves.
