About Jet (Dog Friendly)
The gorgeous JET, was surrendered to Wally's Doggie Rescue and is in foster care in Wagga Wagga, NSW.
FOSTER HOME ENVIRONMENT
Jet currently lives with two other Border Collies and an adult Husky ranging from 7 months to 5 years of age. Jet can not live with pocket pets. Jet currently sleeps inside on his bed in foster carer. Jet is in foster care in a no child household.
PERSONALITY
Jet has no food aggression towards other dogs, but can be hesitant to eat his food some times. Jet is dominant with other dogs and lives with other male dogs. Jet is very dog friendly and meets all dogs with a wiggerly bum. Jet does not really understand play time and doesn't seem interested in his toys. Jet will chase the ball at the dog park, but is still learning to bring it back to his humans. Jet is a water baby and does like the water, and chasing water drips and the hose water. Jet does a fear towards males and can be very hesitant around unknown males and new people however will warm them up to them given positive exposure. Jet also has a fear of being grabbed by the collar. Jet loves his treats and loves to snuggle. Jet doesn't like very loud noises, and would not do well in a city central home.
TRAINING
Jet can walk on a lead well, however will not walk well in a collar, so requires a large harness (Comes with a harness, if the adoptive family would like one). Jet will walk right behind you, left heel and will not run ahead or attempt to lead (very passive walker). Jet knows how to shake. Jet when taken to the dog park, does display herding behaviour/technique with other dogs so may have some previous training in farming.
Jets perfect forever home would be a house with an active family who have the time to walk him at least once a day or take him for some exercise with maybe one other dog (I think he would be best with a female dog of similar active levels to him) probably not that suited for younger children. He would suit a suburban home with a family who will have him in their home (inside and outside) and would do well with a female owner.
Jet is located in Wagga Wagga NSW.
Medical notes
Healthy Adult Dog.
Adoption details
When enquiring about Jet, please give us some indication of the type of home that he would have with you. We are interested in things such as other animals (past and present), children who may have contact with the dog, whether you own or rent your home, what opportunities for socialisation outside the home your dog would have, how much you/someone is home and most importantly, why you feel this dog may be suitable for you.
Wally's Dog Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family.
To kickstart my training, Wyong Dog Training Club will provide 3 FREE dog training sessions
http://wyongdogtrainingclub.org.au/. So please be sure to utilise this awesome gift which will benefit both you and Jet.
Wally's Doggie Rescue likes all of our rescues to be adopted into families that will continue their socialisation and allow their dogs inside of the home on a regular basis to ensure that they are part of the family. This is particulary so if they are to be an only dog.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
