About Leo (Dog/Poultry Friendly)
Leo was surrendered to Wally's Doggie Rescue as an unwanted litter with his siblings.
Leo's foster home environment, is currently no children, one foster host dog (1 year old ridgeback x mastiff ie. Big dog!), whom Leo keeps up and plays well with. Leo lives with 2 cats and 5 chooks. He's learning quickly to not chase after the chooks, but barks at the cat because the cat is not dog friendly. Leo is currently sleeping with foster family on his own bed at night, but does sneak up onto the humans bed through the night, and we are working to correct this.
Leo's personality is not dominant, but he can stick up for himself with the big dog. Leo likes to eat his dinner quickly but happy to share food, bones and toys. Leo is very playful. Loves playing ball and tug of war with Lola (his foster dog), and is particularly fond of his little bone and ball. Leo can be anxious when left alone but has been improving with practice. He loves snuggles, and nuzzling into your neck for a snooze. He loves playing outside, running around, chasing sticks and rumbling with Lola. He loves any attention especially pats and snuggles.
Leo does walk well on a on the lead. Sits for treats, and is working on his inside toilet training. Leo has good recall and travels well in the car, and enjoys being brushed by his humans.
The perfect home for Leo would be best suited to a family with kids who will shower him with love and attention, ideally with someone who will be home a lot during the day. I think he would do very well with children because he is incredibly gentle and doesn't jump, and would love all the attention, but he could end up being quite a big dog. Another dog to play with would be great, because he plays well and likes the doggy company. He also sleeps through the night without needing to the toilet.
Leo is available for meet and greet today.
Medical notes
Healthy pup.
Adoption details
When enquiring about Leo, please give us some indication of the type of home that he would have with you. We are interested in things such as other animals (past and present), children who may have contact with the dog, whether you own or rent your home, what opportunities for socialisation outside the home your dog would have, how much you/someone is home and most importantly, why you feel this dog may be suitable for you.
Wally's Dog Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family.
To kickstart my training, Wyong Dog Training Club will provide 3 FREE dog training sessions
http://wyongdogtrainingclub.org.au/. So please be sure to utilise this awesome gift which will benefit both you and Leo.
Wally's Doggie Rescue likes all of our rescues to be adopted into families that will continue their socialisation and allow their dogs inside of the home on a regular basis to ensure that they are part of the family. This is particulary so if they are to be an only dog.
Leo is located on Central Coast of,NSW.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
