About Bosco
Bosco the Brave is a fun loving boy who is looking for an adoring home where he can be your one-and-only!
Extremely intelligent and a fast learner, Bosco would be well suited to agility training. He is a champion at following commands, and to date has learned to sit, lay down, shake, rolly-polly (roll onto back for tummy rub), stay or wait, shake, up (into back of car), (go to) bed, (go) in/side and "Crocodile", i.e. stand up on his rear haunches for a treat. Food is definitely this big boy's currency!
Bosco is a relatively young dog, and many puppy traits still remain. He loves tug-o-war, and a good rumble in the back yard. He has a special toy that he takes to bed with him and can be a little afraid of the dark when outside or in a new environment.
MY IDEAL HOME: At this stage in my life I am looking for a loving, understanding home that is committed to my ongoing training. A firm but kind hand is essential.
I would be best suited to a large yard in a less dense suburban area, as I'm not a huge fan of loud traffic noise when i go on my walks.
I'll also be expecting lots of toys (balls and Kongs are my favourite!), good food, and regular exercise - always on lead at this stage, as I am known to get quite distracted.
I adore cuddles and will want to spend a lot of time in your company, loved and included as a true member of the family. Even though I weigh almost 30kg I'm a lap dog at heart. :)
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I love a good walk, although I don't need one every day... as long as I have a big backyard to zoom around, 3-4 long walks per week suits me down to the ground. Even better if you're a runner! I LOVE to run and will match pace with you either running, jogging or riding a bike.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: In my foster home there's an 11-month-old baby who I love dearly. I am very patient, and allow him to use me as an object to pull himself up to standing. I've never displayed any aggression since coming into foster care.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I find other dogs very exciting - a bit too exciting actually, although continued supervised socialisation is bound to improve things over time!
I'm not going to be a good match for any households with cats unfortunately, as I'm a chaser through and through.

Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form at http://www.maggiesrescue.org/adoption-enquiry/. Please use this link rather than the 'find out more' button on the pet's PetRescue profile.
We will then organise a time for you to meet with the foster carer and the pet you are interested in adopting.
Maggie's wants this to be a good experience for you, and we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog as your situation may not meet the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of this period we will transfer the microchip to your details and the adoption is complete.
Your pet is a Maggie's Pet for Life, please consider this before adopting.
