About Beau
Hi everyone, My names beau and I was saved at the eleventh hour from the pound.
We think I am only 4-5 months old, but I'm already bigger than my foster sisters. This brings us to believe I'm a Great Dane mix, so I will be a big boy once fully grown.
I already knew sit when I came into care so some one has taken the time to teach me that, however my manners end there. We are working on sit and wait for my food, and my jumping when someone enters the back yard. So far I'm doing well. I've also never really been on a lead so like to zig zag in front and behind my carer which makes for an interesting walk with two other dogs!
I haven’t come across a dog I don’t like, I live with a staffy and a small hairy mum and her five puppies, which I absolutely love, but am too big and boisterous to play with them. I also live with a three year old human who I love a little too much and can knock her over when I get excited when comes out to play with me. So either a family with older children or lots of training is a must.
Having said that puppy pre-school, or regular dog training is almost essential for me, not only to get my manners in check, but to also build a strong relationship on trust and guidance with my new family.
That all said at the end of the day I love to snuggle on the couch, and still think I'm a lap dog, however I am not house trained so would need on going support in this area if I was to be an inside/outside dog.
With some dedicated work while I am still young I will make a superb addition to any family.
