About Milan ~ Mixed Breed Puppy (trial 12/9/15)
Introducing Milan, a super adorable 8 week old puppy. The vet thought these puppies might be a cross between a Collie, a Shepherd, a Kelpie, a Staffy and who knows what else. What we know for sure is, they are all super cute.
Based on what they currently weigh and by looking at their feet we think they should grow up to be medium sized dogs, however as we never met their fur family we just can’t be 100% sure.
Their story began as a sad one, they were dumped and when Dog Rescue Newcastle took them into care they were very small, very weak and very sick. They all moved into our home and we gave them lots of good food, lots of love and attention, lots of medicine and warm baths and they slept by a lovely fireplace. We can now proudly say they are happy, healthy dogs who are ready to find their new families and start their wonderful lives.
Miss Milan is the fluffiest girl in the group. With fluffy fur comes incredible snuggly cuddles and she does a two arm around the neck cuddle which melts the heart of any who pick her up.
She loves to run around with her siblings and play in the garden and when she needs a rest to catch her breath she loves to lay beside you.
Milan loves her food and is currently learning to slow down to avoid the hiccups. This may stem from her early start in life where food was scarce and she had to get her share. In time and with training she will develop proper manners.
As she is still a puppy she is too young to be left alone for long periods of time. She would need to go to a home where someone is home quite a lot and where she is welcome inside to be part of the family. As with all puppies, she is still learning all the tricks and lessons that will help her become a well-rounded and good dog. Her new family will need to be dedicated to helping her become the best dog she can be.
Because she is so young she is still learning the art of toilet training it is important to take her out regularly to avoid accidents. We would also recommend puppy-training classes as this will give her the best start in life.
She is not yet desexed and is only available for adoption in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens. This is because she needs to be returned to one of our vets for desexing when she is 4 or 5 months old.
Milan shares a foster mum with five siblings and their names are Phoenix, Bronx, Dakota, Paris & Florence. They are currently in Lochinvar (near Maitland) and are all available for adoption.
If you would like to meet any of the pups please contact Renee via email at renlou1980@gmail.com.
The adoption fee is $450 and this includes desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, and microchipping. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
