About Oscar ~ Fox Terrier (on trial 29/8/15)
Introducing Oscar the fox terrier who is now available for adoption. He is about 2 years old and came to us a few weeks ago from up in the Hunter Valley. He has settled in really well and is happy being inside or outside.
I don’t know anything about Oscars life before he came to us but there are many great things about him that I can share with anyone looking for a fun little dog with a lot of love to give.
Oscar is happy out in the yard and will sleep outside at night. He does like to come in for a visit and a cuddle. He likes nothing more than to burrow in to his inside bed to find just the right place to sleep. He has a really funny habit of moving his blanket around the bed to get it in just the right position. It is really funny to watch how much trouble he goes to and if there is a blanket on the floor he will lift it up and get himself right in under it and go to sleep.
He has become good friends with our dog (a big golden retriever) but I think he feels a little intimidated by his size sometimes so would be happier with another dog of a similar size. I think he would get a bit lonely if he was the only dog. But of course if his new owner was home most of the time he would be very happy with just human company.
He is house trained and walks really well on a lead. He loves little toys and can amuse himself for ages with them. Oscar also loves to chase a ball and seems to have endless energy.
Water is not his favourite thing but will tolerate it for the sake of a bath.
We also have a rabbit and Oscar has co-existed with her so we think he would be ok with cats also.
Oscar is a lovely little boy who would be a great addition to many families. He loves a snuggle and will melt your heart very quickly.

Oscar's adoption fee is $400 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
