About Molly
Sweet old Molly has had a hard life. When she was a younger dog, she was a breeder, however she was desexed after contracting a pyometra infection of the uterus. We can see that she was loved by her elderly owner as she is really mourning his death, however her health needs have been neglected so she came to us with many issues.
However, despite having a hard time, she is loving and affectionate. Molly loves to go for walks and is social with other dogs. She would do best in a home where there were other dogs. Molly is living with quite a bossy little terrier foster sister, however she is so social and sweet and lets the other dog have her way. Molly is just a lovely natured dog. She loves to lie in the sun and spend time outdoors but is just as happy on the couch.
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heart worm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Molly has severely laxtating patellas and severe arthritis. Due to her age, surgery is not an option. She has a heart murmur that does not require medication. Molly had severe dental disease and had surgery whilst in our care. She also had a terrible skin infection that is improving with love and care from her foster carer.
Adoption details
The first step to adopting a dog from us is to fill out an expression of interest form.
We encourage you to provide as much detail as possible about your family and your home as this helps us make sure we match you with the most suitable dog.
This form can be found at the following address:
http://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/h66Ieevy7w10HeTi
Please note: we do not organise any meet and greet without a completed expression of interest form.
Our adoption process involves:
1) Completing online application form
2) Arranging a meet and greet with the dogs foster carer, after which we ask you to take 24 hours to make a decision about whether you want to adopt this dog
3) A brief home visit and yard check from one of our volunteers
4) Adoption trial spanning four weeks.
We ask that you pay the dogs adoption fee at the beginning of the adoption trial, however this will be refunded if for any reason the dog is not working out in your home within the four week period. We offer a four week adoption trial to make sure that you have plenty of time for your new dog to settle into your home and so we can offer you full support during this period and beyond.
We offer a free health check with our vets at Indooroopilly or Chermside vet clinic after you’ve adopted your dog and every dog in our care is up to date with all vet work.
We have many dogs that are in foster care and are not yet ready to be listed for a variety of reasons. If you have a good idea of what you are looking for in your new dog please email us at chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com and let us help you match a dog to your needs.
