About Austin ~ Ridgeback Mix (trial 9/11/15)
Introducing Austin, an 8 month old Ridgeback x who will steal your heart! Austin possesses all the qualities you’ll desire in your new best friend. He’s handsome, affectionate, keen to learn, responsive, dog and kid friendly and house trained! The complete package!
Austin is an absolute darling, he’ll be a little timid in new situations and therefore would love a doggy companion who can be a friendly, confident leader for him to copy.
Austin currently resides with two other friendly ridgy x boys who he plays with during day while his foster mum is at work. In the afternoon its ‘walkies’ time and Austin is a perfect gentleman on lead and doesn’t pull.
At dinner time, Austin sits before eating his nutritious dinner of brown rice, vegies, and mince. Then it’s inside for some cuddles on the couch before curling up in his bed for the night. Austin sleeps peacefully through the night inside and doesn’t need to go out for a toilet break until the morning.
Austin will require 6ft fencing as he can be quite springy when motivated although doesn’t usually jump up on people.
If you think you can provide Austin with a loving home where he can be included in the family’s daily activities and ideally have an older confident dog to play with, then please complete an application form available online or from his carer, Bec.
Austin is in foster care in Cardiff, Lake Macquarie, NSW. His adoption fee is $400 and includes desexing, vaccinating and lifetime registration.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
