About Honey
Honey is a beautiful boy who has a had a rough start in life but he is so loving towards people despite what he has been through.
He loves nothing more than being involved in what his people are doing. If you are in the mood for a run or a short stroll, honey will be up for it too. He is also more than happy to laze around on the couch and watch your favourite tv show with you. He's also very social and is happy to tag along to family/friend gatherings as long as he is the only dog there. He is still learning to be comfortable around all dogs, large and small.
Honey loves people so much that he really doesn't like being left by himself for long. While his foster dad is at work he does stay inside by himself and will just spend the day snoozing on his foster dads bed. It did take time and patience to help honey understand that being left by himself is nothing to be afraid of and that his foster dad will always come home to him. He would be most suitable to someone who doesn't work long hours everyday and is willing to help Honey adjust slowly or someone who can take him to work/works from home.
Honey is a highly intelligent boy and learns new training easily. He has even taught himself to open some doors, saving the day when his foster dad was locked out of the house. Honey also uses his smarts for naughtiness by opening the pantry to find treats which he then hides all over the house and pretends he knows nothing about it when they are found.
He is so clever that often his foster dad laughs that he is too clever for the average person. While living with his foster dad honey has even become bilingual and has learned to understand 4 different ways to say "walk," including two in polish. He really does love his walks. Honey would definitely be most suitable to someone who is an experienced dog owner and who understands dog behaviour.
Honey is also toilet trained and understands the basic commands, such as sit, stay, drop, shake and beg. It makes him so happy to be told that he is "such a good boy" when he does something right. He can be cheeky but he also knows when to be serious and listens to what he is asked to do. He responds very well to positive reinforcement and using treats to show him what you want him to do. Honey is also very gentle and greets people calmly. He also takes treats very gently.
Everyone who meets honey instantly falls in love with his beautiful and gentle nature, and his cheeky but equally beautiful personality.
