Rory..

Hi, my name is Batterly, but my foster mum and all my friends call me Rory. I’m a 12 month old sharpei cross and everyone I’ve meet loves to give me pats and attention, which is just fine by me!

I am happy to be only dog , but I do get a bit lonely during the day, so just like any dog I’d benefit from having owners who can spend lots of time with me. I get so excited when my foster mum gets home from work that I yelp in excitement and do a happy dance on my back legs which makes her laugh!

I’m only little so I love to sleep inside otherwise I’d get very cold at night. Don’t be fooled by my big head in the photos, I stand at about knee height and only weigh 16 kilos. My size and temperament makes me a good companion for young children, but I haven’t been around any while in my foster home so if you have young kids you will have to introduce us to each other with care and supervision.

I love the company of other dogs, and dont mind cats either, but will chase them if they run. I am gentle with dog confident cats, and like to sniff and lick them.

I am house trained and if you make sure to let me out before bed time and straight away when you wake up in the morning I won't have any accidents. I sit for my dinner and I'm learning other tricks like shaking hands. I love nothing better than a cuddle on the couch in the evenings, but I'm just as happy to sleep in my bed at your feet if that's what you prefer.

I don’t seem to have a nasty bone in my body and haven’t shown aggression of any kind while in care, I love meeting new people and puppies. If you have visitors, I’ll just walk from one to the other lapping up all the attention but if you ignore me I won’t beg, I’ll just go and lie down in my bed.

I walk well on the lead if you spend a few minutes showing me who’s boss, and like most dogs I would benefit from some structured obedience training and socialisation. I absolutely love riding in the car and I’ll jump in as soon as you open the door and sit happily in the back seat until we get to our destination.
