About Caramel the Courageous
“Oh no, not I. I will survive. As long as I know how to love I know I’ll stay alive.” That’s my theme song – my name is Carmel and I’m a survivor! My foster mommy says I'm one brave cat – she says I’m her “miracle girl.” When I first came to the pound with my brothers as a wee kitten. I was not feeling well at all, I had really bad cat flu, which led me to getting gangrene on my tongue. I couldn’t eat any food. Truth be told, I was a little frightened. The vet at the pound thought I wasn’t going to make it. Luckily I had a guardian angel who refused to give up on me. She found a vet who removed half my tongue! Even though my tongue is half the size, it doesn’t stop me from chatting or eating like any other cat! It just means I use my paw to eat – just like you! I pick up food on my paw and eat that way. It’s easier (and less messy!) if I have a nice plastic dinner mat to eat off of. I'm a pretty, sweet lovable lady ready to find my special person. My foster mommy thinks I’m absolutely stunning, with champagne tortoiseshell coloured coat and big green eyes. It’s hard to tell in the photos – I know everyone calls me an absolute doll, but I’m not a doll, I’m a cat! And I don’t want to live in a doll house, I really want my forever home. I can be a bit on the quiet side, but I do have an affectionate nature – I love cuddling, especially on your lap. I would love a place of my own with no other cats or little children, because I want all your love to myself. And I know I could make you very happy if you take me home. “I've got all my life to live I've got all my love to give. And I'll survive, I will survive. Hey hey!”
Medical notes
Other than her having only a half tongue, Carmel has no medical conditions that we know of. Because our cats are rescued from the pound or off the streets, we don’t know their entire background or complete medical history. All ages are an estimate only. All our cats come with all their vet work completed which includes desexing, microchipping, vaccinated and parasite treated.
Adoption details
At Brighter Future Cat Rescue we adopt to indoor homes only or homes with suitable cat runs. House checks are a must and all our cats and kittens have meet and greets. A 2 week trial period is given to ensure that they are ideal for your situation and lifestyle. All our cats come desexed, microchipped, first vaccination and their worming and flea treatment are up to date. We rescue our cats off the street and would think nothing worse that they be placed back there and in danger of the perils of modern day society.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
