We are sad to advise that Wendy lost her battle with cancer. She was lucky to be in a wonderful home filled with love.
“Our names are Buddie and Wendy and we love each other and have been together so long we could not bear to be apart. We have been through quite a lot together. Our elderly owner passed away and we were left at the pound, cold and alone. We were very frightened and confused. Lucky for us Greyhound Rescue doesn’t mind if houndies are old and they came swiftly in the Rescue Van to save us -we were so happy to be out of there! We may not be as lively as younger houndies but we can move quick when we want to!
We still play and have a little zoomie but you have to understand that just like older people greyhounds get tired more easily when they are old too. Our hearts are willing our bodies just aren’t as much. We can give just as much love though- or perhaps even more!
We don’t really like cats, and we need a home without stairs as our joints aren’t as able as they used to be. We would really like a quiet place to be comfortable, safe, and loved. As we are Sanctuary Hounds all our vet care will be covered by GR – and we will come with our own beds and coats. We just haven’t found that kind person who can see past our age and into our souls. Adoption details
Once we have found your new greyhound we will send you an application form to complete and return. Then we will arrange a house check. It is important that the right hound goes to the right home! We can arrange for you to meet the dog/s and they can meet your family and/or other pets. Our hounds go “on trial” with your family for a minimum of 2 weeks. We have dogs that are small dog and cat friendly.
We expect greyhounds to be 'indoor dogs' and not left alone for long periods of time. Ideally they would have a doggy or human friend for company most of the time.
