About Celeste *On Trial in Her New Home*
*CELESTE IS CURRENTLY TRIALING HER NEW HOME* Celeste is a little bundle of energy! At just 6 months old she is a dainty little miss who is always up for a bit of fun! She’s looking for an owner who will spend the time helping her reach her full potential; will it be with you??
Loveable Celeste will be happiest when put to work, whether this be accompanying you on a run or competing in dog sports. She is a very happy and responsive pup who will suit an active household. Being a Kelpie she is intelligent and learns quickly, always wanting to please her humans – she’s the kind of pup who would excel at dog obedience classes and the fact that she’s food driven definitely helps with her training, having quickly learnt “sit”. As she’s in foster care on acreage she still needs to learn how to walk on a lead, however her eagerness for new smells and experiences would help accomplish this in a short time.
Celeste socialises and plays well with other dogs and loves being able to come inside to cuddle up with them next to the fire at night. She has fallen in love with her foster carer’s large female Catahoula cross and even though Celeste has her own kennel to sleep in she can often be found snuggled in with her ‘bestie’. Celeste is playful around children so a home with older kids would suit her better as she may accidentally bowl the little ones over with her puppy exuberance.

It is clear that feed time has previously been a free for all for poor Celeste; a ‘first in best dressed’ scenario as she will scoff her meals like it’s the last one she’ll ever receive though being bright she is beginning to understand she will not miss out and this will require ongoing reassurance – perhaps a ‘scoff bowl’ would help too. She’s not a fussy eater and enjoys a diet of good quality dry food, table scraps and fresh bones.
As Celeste has been enjoying an indoor/outdoor lifestyle we’d like to see this continued in her forever home – she’s a friendly, affectionate pup who enjoys a cuddle on the couch while you watch tv. With her working dog genes Celeste will require regular exercise - confinement to a backyard with no daily stimulation could result in excessive barking or destructive behaviour due to boredom, so she would benefit from a playful canine companion if you’re away for much of the day at work. Daily walks, secure fencing, obedience classes and toys to play with will make Celeste very happy indeed!

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
