Serocco

I'm trying a new home to see if i like it!!
Serocco is a very special case who was found wandering by a passerby and taken to the pound where the vets checked him over. They had to surgically remove a thick rubber band that was totally embedded into the bottom half of his throat then treat a stab wound in the middle of his back. The stitches have now been removed from his throat and all the usual vet work undertaken by our rescue dogs has been done. Next stop is the groomers to shave off his badly overgrown coat (which most likely has never been done in the 12 months of his life so far) and then serocco will be ready to go to his forever home in great shape. As he's obviously be ill-treated, we're profiling him not to be rehomed with young children, as they can be too re-active with animals at times and he may not cope with with that. Serocco needs a stable, consistent home where he can recover his confidence in humans! like all maltese, his coat is the grooming type so a trip to the doggy hairdressers about every 8 weeks will be needed for the 12-15 years of his life. Update 28 january: as you can see from the update photo, serocco has been to the doggy hairdressers! once again, the team at blue gum boarding lodge at morriset were kind enough to tend to him. Sue and vanessa who groomed him also agreed that he'd never been clipped in the 12 months of his life so far and yet he was soooo good. He sat on the table, being pulled and stretched to access all of his body, but just took it like an old pro !
with all his coat clipped off it's also become apparent that he's not a maltese breed, but a maltese x shih tzu instead, and just as lovable. Serocco is now quite 'puppy like' in his approach to life and loves running around being a full on teenage dog with all of his doggy foster pals. It's lovely to see him enjoying life again so much. . . . Serocco comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed, heartworm tested and with nsw local council lifetime registration for $330. If you would like more information on serocco or to arrange to meet him, please phone ronda on 0418 123852 (between 8am and 7pm only) or email her using adoption enquiry as your subject heading.
