Good with cats, dogs and people. Great companion, friendly and affectionate.

Other dogs
Fine with other dogs - both male and female. He is well socialised.

Cats
Yes. He has previously been fine but as he has not had direct contact in the last few years he would need to be re-introduced with supervision.

Kids
Yes but Jasper might accidentally knock one over. Jaspa is very friendly and loves a homecoming. While he may be a little exuberant initially he does settle down. We recommend primary school kids and older.

Size
Approx 25 kgs

Exercise requirements
Medium. Jasper loves a good walk every day but can cope with an equal amount of playtime at home if you miss a day. He loves to play with other dogs and has previously lived in harmony with another dog.

How is your dog on a lead?
Jasper is used to a halite harness and is usually well behaved.

How is the dog off the lead?
Initially Jasper will go off exploring but is likely to come back eventually - though he might play 'chasie' when you try to get him back on his halti. This will be easier with some training - Jaspa learns quickly.

Escape artist?
Yes. Jaspa needs a secure yard and also someone home more often than not. Jaspa is a wonderful companion dog and therefore will try and find you if you are gone for long. He can also climb.

Nuisance barker?
No

Tolerance to being alone
Jaspa needs a home where he has human company most of the time.

Likes
Water and swimming - see attached video. He also loves playing with other dogs and riding in the back of a ute. Jasper loves his food and will eat anything.

Dislikes
Thunder and lightning. He needs to be soothed during these events.

Ideal home
Large yard or even acreage. You will need to be a relatively active person and be looking for a companion. Jaspa is smart and hence, needs physical and mental stimulation.

Generally
Jaspa loves to play with other dogs and while he is not overly rough, he can be boisterous initially. He is also very smoochie, loyal and affectionate. Jaspa is also a 'lounger' so will lie quietly next to you. Jaspa groans like an old man if you rub his ears and loves having his back scratched. He ADORES water and will put his head right under to retrieve stones and play. He has been to the beach a few times and enjoyed it. Jaspa likes bouncing on the trampoline too. He really is a character who doesn't realise he is a big boy.
