About Tux
I'm Tux, a boisterous 8 month old giant baby and GDLAWA are helping me to find a new home. My current family does love me, but our lives have changed a little and I don't feel as though I have enough attention and so try my best to get it. I didn't know that chewing the corners of the table was not good! I am not quite sure where I fit in the pack, so been trying to figure it out. It's confusing because the big guy is away a fair bit and I think the big lady might be boss, but she doesn't seem too sure. We’ve had quite a few arguments over my food and I’d really like my new home to help me understand how I need to behave around food because at the moment I don’t know what is right and wrong.
Most of the time we get along though. I love to play - I can't find enough people to share my toys with! And I love to chase my friend who sometimes visits (he's a kelpie) - I'm exhausted after play dates. I've gotten some training and passed my last level with flying colours. I love belly rubs and I especially love cuddles (so much so that I like them for rewards more than food and toys). I am toilet trained - I even know how to ring a bell to let you know I want to go out. I've seen cats at the vet, but I am not sure if I'd like them in my home. I like chasing the birds at the park and the guinea pig is fun to watch in his cage, until he hides in the box.
I love to meet new doggy friends out and about. Occasionally they are a little scary for me at first but I warm up really fast. I also love to meet new people because they always have lots of cuddles for me. I walk well on a lead and enjoy a run on a long lead. But I do get easily distracted so might not remember what to do if I don't have the lead on therefore I haven’t graduated to off lead.
I'm not a little puppy any more, but still a puppy and I need someone who knows how to teach me more about being comfortable with people around my food and crate when I’m sleeping. It's getting awfully confusing when I don't have a lot of consistency in my environment. What would suit me best is a healthy routine that helps me understand what's expected of me and lots of cuddles when I’m doing all the right things. If you've got lots for me to do and the time to give me my exercise and training, then I would love to see if you can help me learn how to fit into your home.
