About Rusty (Dog/Child/Cat Friendly)
Rusty is gorgeous young boy, that loves the company of his people.
Rusty was surrendered to Wally's Doggie Rescue, as the young children in his previous family were to rough with him.
Rusty has recently gone into foster care in a family environment with two children age 6 and 9 years, 2 adult cats, 4 adult dogs, and two other puppies. He is wary of large dogs, but doesn't mind small dogs and has made friends the a foster host female dog (Pug x Pom). Rusty has never met a cat before, and tends to bark at them, but if they walk towards him he will politely run the other way. He loves to sleep with you on the bed at night and is fully house trained. He loves to hang out with the children and has not shown any aggression towards them. Rusty walks well on a lead and has good recall. Rusty will quiet happily follow you around the yard and inside the home, and be where ever you are.
Rusty is generally an inside dog, and currently has access to the house when the family is out. he does tend to bark when left for long periods during the day, although this does not seem to be problem if he has access to inside the house. Rusty has had very little training, but is responding to basic commends and gentle correction.
Rusty is microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and flea treated and lifetime registered. A meet and greet of the handsome Rusty can be arranged prior to this date.
Rusty is a low to medium energy level. He loves cuddles and kisses once he knows you.
Rusty is fed a premium diet of Royal Canin puppy biscuits and raw chicken mince. Rusty has not showned any signs of food aggression towards other dogs in foster but he can snatch food from your hands if sitting down at his level. He is learning this behaviour is not acceptable and has learnt very quickly to wait for the "Yes", response before eating food from people's hands.
Medical notes
Healthy Pup and Lifetime Registered.
Adoption details
When enquiring about Rusty, please give us some indication of the type of home that he would have with you. We are interested in things such as other animals (past and present), children who may have contact with the dog, whether you own or rent your home, what opportunities for socialisation outside the home your dog would have, how much you/someone is home and most importantly, why you feel this dog may be suitable for you.
Wally's Dog Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family. Answering these above question, will ensure a quicker response and meet and greet date.
To kickstart my training, Wyong Dog Training Club will provide 3 FREE dog training sessions
http://wyongdogtrainingclub.org.au/. So please be sure to utilise this awesome gift which will benefit both you and Rusty.
Wally's Doggie Rescue likes all of our rescues to be adopted into families that will continue their socialisation and allow their dogs inside of the home on a regular basis to ensure that they are part of the family. This is particulary so if they are to be an only dog.
Rusty is located on Central Coast of NSW.
