About D'artagnon *On Trial in His New Home*
*D'ARTAGNON IS CURRENTLY TRIALING HIS NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* Looking for a big cuddly teddy-bear to share your home and your heart with??? Then you can’t go past delightful D’artagnon!
Loveable “D” as he’s affectionately known as would love a cat free home with a playful dog to keep him company if his humans were going to be away at work a lot as he totally thrives on companionship. Recently surrendered to SARG through no fault of his own he’s a friendly, affectionate young dog who you can’t help but fall in love with.
From his foster carer:
D’artagnon or “D’ as he’s affectionately known as is a big cuddly-teddy bear though don't let his size fool you, he's as mushy as they come! He's a gentle soul that loves humans, as long as they are not too boisterous (but he warms up to even the loudest person after a while), \ even to the point of sitting with my 10-month old wherever she happens to be and letting her practice her patting skills (at the moment more like smacking and pulling hair skills!). He is exceedingly patient, and is very obedient - he goes outside when asked to, sits on his bed when asked to, and sits (stay needs a bit more work, but it's not because he doesn't know how to, he just really wants to be as close to you as possible!). He is toilet-trained, has learnt to sleep in his own bed all night, and isn't an escape artist. He can be a little timid at times, so he needs an owner who knows how to lead and discipline without yelling. He loves nothing more than resting his head on your lap for hours at a time, getting pats (unless you'll let him sit on top of you and gaze adoringly into your eyes!). He is not destructive considering his age and enthusiasm – he has played tug-o-war with my dogs (a Terrier and a Labrador) and has managed to destroy a couple of stuffed dog toys, which they do all the time anyway – it takes two or three to tango!. D loves playing with other dogs, and as much as he loves smooching and is very gentle, he can roughhouse with the best of them when playing with a likeminded dog. He does require a bit of grooming; a brush a couple of times a week (which he likes even if it pulls because he just enjoys the physical contact with you!), and occasional trip to the groomers to tidy up his shaggy coat. We would have loved to keep him, and our daughter is going to miss him terribly, but after his first intriguing interaction with a cat (ours), his chase and chomp instinct kicked in and our traumatised cat (who has had to get used to a parade of foster dogs in and out of the house) has to be kept in a separate room when D is in the house.

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
