About AJ ~ Chihuahua x Pomeranian (on trial 22/8/15)
Introducing AJ, a charming little 6 year old Chihuahua x Pomeranian. This little man is a real companion dog and would love to go to a home where his companionship is needed. He is a very loving little guy and would like to find someone to love him in return when he goes to his forever home.
When first meeting AJ you may find he is rather reserved. This is just his nature and it won’t take him long to warm to your charms, especially if you are the affectionate type. AJ loves a cuddle. He is also happy to be carried around and being picked up does not phase him in the slightest. He enjoys a walk as well and an opportunity to stretch his little legs will always be welcome. He is excellent on lead and this makes walking adventures a real pleasure.
In his new home AJ must be allowed to be an inside dog. He is housetrained so won’t make a mess once he settles. He needs to sleep inside with his family (be warned, he snores) and spend most of his time with you. He is happy inside however also loves his time in the garden. He does not dig or try to jump so he should make a great gardening buddy. He loves company and will follow you around wherever you go. He really is just looking for companionship.
A trip in the car is not a problem for AJ. He will pant with excitement and this for him is perfectly normal. AJ gets on well with other small dogs and has lived with them in his previous home as well as with his foster carer’s dogs. He is good with kids too so if you have kids or grandchildren who visit he could be the perfect family addition. Oh and he loves treats!!!
If you think you can give him this loving forever home I am looking for the please call Donna on 0466 099 426 or email trudgetty@hotmail.com.
AJ is in foster care in Mayfield, NSW and is available for adoption interstate. His adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
