Buddy ~ 1yo Lab (on trial 29/8/15)

Are you looking for your furever buddy? Well what a co-winky-dink my name just happens to be Buddy and I am a 12 month old, male, purebred Labrador.

My foster mum says I have a heart of gold. She reckons I’m a big adorable softie and when she says big she is not really kidding. For such a young pup I’m a big dude, weighing in around 42kg. So my foster mum says no more frankfurts as treats for me just a good old fashion fresh food diet for me. I really need to lose about 10kgs. But don’t let my size fool you I am full of energy and LOVE to rough and tumble with me foster brother. I would love a forever home with another medium to large dog to play with (I think small fluffy dogs are play things) so someone more my size would be great.

I have made friends with the local dog groomer and I have decided that a bath is not so bad and I scrub up a treat. I love going out in the car. The great outdoors is where I love to be BUT there is a catch (just remember how handsome I am while you read this next bit) because if you think you are taking me for a walk…. You might have to think again because I will be the one walking you. My foster mum thinks I would do well wearing a halti lead to slow me down – it is definitely a two hand kind of job BUT I am pretty clever so I reckon I could get the hang of this walking beside you stuff pretty quick (especially if there is food involved).

My foster mum tells me I will be someone’s “lump of clay” because I am young enough to learn all kinds of cool things. I can sit and stay but a brush up on my manners wouldn’t hurt.

My ideal forever home would be with people who are strong, active, kind, patient, loving, who will see that investing time into me will pay off big time in the end – I know I will be totally awesome! I would love a fur friend to wrestle with, maybe a little submissive (because I can get a little pushy when it comes time to line up for a pat) and because sometimes I forget how big I am small children can get knocked over (but I totally ADORE them and stop to give them a lick) older, dog confident children would be great.

I am just looking for my chance to grow (in maturity), learn and shine.
So that’s me, wonderful me.
