About Turkey Lurkey - Special Needs
Turkey Lurkey, like his brother and sister, was born with deformed front legs. Turkey’s legs are pretty evenly bent, and because of this, he gets around very well on his ‘elbows’! As well as the deformities to their legs, Turkey and his siblings have grown very slowly and are very under size for their age. At around 6 months old, they are similar size to 12 week olds, but are otherwise in good health.
Turkey uses a litter tray with no problems and keeps himself well groomed. His claws need to be trimmed regularly (every 2-3 weeks) as they don’t wear down like a normal cat’s do. Turkey doesn’t really have any other special requirements, other than a home with no stairs or places he can fall from, should he loose his balance, and of course a strictly indoor only home.
Turkey is super smooch and affectionate, though he doesn’t like being picked up or held. He likes to sit on/next to you or on the floor for his pats. He has a huge purr that starts almost as soon as you touch him! Turkey will often sit up on his back legs like a meerkat!
Turkey gets on well with other friendly cats, after initial introductions and while ideally we’d love to find a home for Turkey and his brother and sister together, as they are all so close, we realise this is a big ask and even with one of his siblings would be wonderful.
A special adoption fee of $500 for Turkey and his brother and sister as a trio, is available to approved homes.
Turkey is in care in Croydon
Medical notes
Turkey goes to his new home desexed, microchipped, flea and worm treated and current in vaccinations.
Turkey was born with deformities of his paws and legs. No ongoing treatment is currently required.
