About Emmy ~ On Trial 9/9/15
Meet smiling Emmy - a friendly medium sized orange Masiff x Staffy with a heart of gold. Emmy is 5 and a half years old and adores her humans. Emmy (short for Emerald) has a typical staffy smile on her face all day long – she greets you with so much joy when you return after being out that you can't help but smile back at her.
Emmy loves her cuddles and playing in the backyard – when you go out she will happily chew on a bone or rawhide treat. She loves her daily walk and chasing a tennis ball. Emmy loves playing with other medium to large dogs of any age. She's also content to be an only dog as then she gets more love to herself!
Emmy has good energy levels, she’s active but not over the top. She doesn’t have to be entertained all the time and will chill out and relax with you if you want to have a quiet day at home. She's most content being near you. She has good doggy manners and knows basic commands. \ Emmy currently sleeps in a sheltered area outside, but she would love you to pieces if she was allowed to sleep inside with her famly.
Emmy would be great with a family with children of any age as she is very gentle with them. \ Even when kids are playing roughly or rowdily around her, she just takes it all in her stride and isn’t phased at all. She shows a little too much interest in cats when she’s out walking so she is best suited to a home without cats or squeaky pocket pets. Emmy would also suit a couple who want a loyal canine companion to be their new best friend – if you are a jogger, she’d happily join you.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
