About Skye
Skye, is almost 12 months she shy, and sensitive, and will require an experienced owner.
There are lots and lots of great things about Skye, she loves cuddles and pats, knows both "sit” and “drop”. She waits at the door, travels quietly in the car and walk nicely on lead (with occasional verbal reminders not to pull).
Sky enjoys chasing and playing with a ball and will bring it back, most times. Skye will bark at strangers or dogs walking past but Is learning that is not always the right thing to do. She sleeps outside in a crate/kennel the door is left open so she can go in and out at will.
Skye originally came to us with fear reactivity, she now understands and can be much more respectful on lead. She has also realised that other dog friendships are pretty great. She is allowed inside during the day and evening when her foster mum is home and shee sleeps quietly on her bed when inside. Skye is good with older children and fine around cats and stock. She is shy girl who simply just wants to do the right thing.
Skye could progress as a sheepdog with some further training although she needs another dog with her at the moment as she recalls quite well and can be around sheep without chasing them.
Importantly, Skye does needs an confident handler to guide her through the difficult moments she is still likely to have. To assist with Skye's ongoing progress she has a training management plan developed by Scott from Canine Connect as part of our commitment to rehabilitating rescued dogs. Scott is also offering Skye's new owners a significant discount for personal sessions.
