About Buddy ~ Chocolate Labrador (trial pending 25/7/15)
Meet Buddy, he is a 3 year old Labrador and just like the choc-bud lollie, he is chocolate and he is sweet and also he will want to be your best buddy.
He loves to gives big hugs and although this is a very lovable gesture, he is learning that this is not always the best way to make friends especially if you are a little person. He is quite a big boy and may be better with older children as he tends to get very excited and may knock them over with his enthusiasm.
Buddy has been a mostly outdoor dog but also likes to be inside and happily sleeps indoors without any accidents. He enjoys watching anyone who may be in the kitchen and will stare at you with those big brown eyes to convince you to give him something to eat. He has perfected the ‘puppy face’ which compels you to stop and give him a pat or a head scratch.
He has learnt some basic commands such as sitting and waiting for his food, which is quite a feat knowing how much he loves his food. He also loves the water, running, chasing balls and sticks and keeping them in his mouth for you to chase him.
He gets on very well with his foster sister and would do well with another dog or even on his own if he is not left alone too much as he loves to have company.
Like all 3 year old boys, Buddy will need a lot of love, time and patience to be taught right from wrong and to learn good manners. He is always eager to please so this should be a pretty easy task if you have the experience, confidence and time to train him. He will also need some work on his recall skills and walking on a lead.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
