About Rosie 'Private Rehoming'
This is Rosie. Rosie is approximately 2 years old and is in desperate need of a forever home. At the moment my partner and I are looking after her, however this cannot be an ongoing situation, not due to Rosie but due to other factors. One of the main reasons is that our dog Ruddy has severe issues with his back legs and has been hurting himself trying to play and keep up with her energy levels. We took Rosie in so that she would not be euthanized, but we need to find her a forever home where she will be happy.
Rosie will need a special home, as she herself is special. She is typically skittish of humans (especially men), but that doesn't mean she doesn't like them. Rosie is house trained and of a night loves to snuggle up on the bed with you for sleepy time and cuddles. She is also very fond of couches and likes sitting next to you for pats-all once she gets to know you of course. She requires another dog for companionship and to help make her feel safe and give her confidence. She tends to follow her canine companion around, so any dogs you currently have will have to be ok with this shadow behaviour. Rosie also loves to play with other dogs and run around, so a dog that is young or active will be well suited to her.
Being in and out of homes all of her short life she has picked up some bad habits. She loves the taste of shoes, removing stuffing from soft toys and has been known to nibble on furniture. Due to her timid nature any discipline will have to be gentle and more reared towards positive reinforcement. Rosie is also a renowned escape artist, so 6ft solid fencing that cannot be dug under will be required to keep her in. We currently have not seen this escape behaviour as she is happy staying with Ruddy, but past owners have had much difficulty with this. On the plus side, she does not bark, so is a nice quiet dog to have around.
We have also been told that she can be funny with food and won't eat whilst being watched. She hasn't exhibited this behaviour around us though, and loves to eat dry biscuits with an egg cracked on top. Rosie also is not a very good traveller and will typically get car sick and vomit. Rosie is de-sexed and is up to date with her vaccinations.
If you have the patience and situation to adopt Rosie, or even if you would be interested in fostering her please contact us so we can talk further. We live in Bundaberg QLD 4670
