About Martin
Hi, I'm Martin. I'm an older cat, not an old cat, so there. Lots of life left in me, thank you very much. But I am past a silly kitten stage. I take my naps, my food and my affection quite seriously.
I am looking for a family to live the rest of my years with, a family that can have a fair degree of attention available for me (so not distracted by an army of young cats or hyperactive dogs - ugh!).
I need to have my outside time too, so you need a garden. I don't go far, but trapped inside for every and I'll go crazy. \ In fact, that's why my last family and I had no choice but to say goodbye to each other. We moved house to a small unit with only a balcony. They knew if I got off there I'd never get back inside and so I was kept inside. Neither of us realised how much I valued my outside life until it wasn't there anymore. Now they're stuck in a long term lease (with no garden, poor humans) but they weren't going to insist that I had to suffer through it too, so a new home was on the menu, via New Life For Animals, who just happened to be my old neighbour.
I'm easy going once I'm settled in to a place, I like to come and go by a simple routine, and I prefer to spend my nights indoors but my days outside - and if there's a patch of lovely sunshine that's where I'll be. Nothing better!
I guess I'm saying I like my independence, so I hope you're not a completely needy human, but I also want someone who is going to be there for me and not think of me as someone who just eats and disappears - I can love a lot, but only if you're worth it.
Medical notes
Martin has no known ailments or medical conditions and is considered in top health.
Adoption details
All animals are adopted, never sold, and an adoption contract is required in each case.
We generally bring the animal(s) to you and reserve the right the inspect the housing and garden at this time. That marks the beginning of a 30 day trial adoption period.
We are committed to supporting you throughout the life of the animal you adopt, so we are here for advice or assistance where possible. We want you and your new family member to have a long happy life together so we will do what we can to ensure this.
We expect and require the highest of care for Martin so we insist upon a house visit before the trail adoption can begin so that we can confirm your house and situation is suitable.
Martin will need to be kept inside inside for the first two weeks whilst he acclimatises to you and the new location. During that time we strongly recommend that you make yourself available at home as much as possible, even taking off work to be at home if at all possible. A feeding schedule that keeps place and time unchanged during this time is needed. Your focus should be on bonding and making Martin feel welcome and safe.
