About Wonka ~ Collie x KelpiexLab Pup(on trial 25/7/15)
Hi there. My name is Wonka and I am a super adorable 7 week old puppy. My siblings and I spoke to the nice vet man and we think we might be a cross between a Border Collie, a Kelpie and maybe even a Labrador. Based on all of that, and by looking at the size of my feet I think I will grow up to be a medium sized dog, however as I never knew my fur ancestors I just can’t be 100% sure.
I am a wandered of sorts and am always looking for the next great adventure. I can often be found exploring the garden with my favourite side kick Freddo, and boy do we make some great discoveries. Freddo says he doesn’t need me around but I sure do love the company.
My foster mum thinks I would be best in a home with another dog for company. I think she is right, we could share all the fun this world has to offer. I am pretty sure that I would be lonely if I didn’t have another fur buddy around.
While I do enjoy the company of other doggies I also love people and would need my people time. For me to be happy I need to be allowed inside and must sleep inside with the rest of the family at night.
As I am still a puppy I am too young to be left alone for long periods of time. I would need to go to a home where someone is home quite a lot and where I am welcome inside to be part of the family. As with all puppies, I am still learning all the tricks and lessons that will help me become a well-rounded and good dog. My new family will need to be dedicated to helping me become the best me I can be.
Because I am so young I am still learning the art of toilet training. I will usually cry to let you know I want to go out and if you take me out regularly I should not make too many mistakes. I would also love to go to puppy-training classes when I’m a little older as my foster mum says they will give me the best start in life. If we go to classes together it will help us build a special bond which we can share forever.
As I am not yet desexed I am only available for adoption in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens. This is because I need to be returned to our vet for desexing when I am 4 or 5 months old.
I share a foster mum with five of my siblings and their names are Rolo, Pollywaffle, Violet, Wonka and Twix. We currently live in Lochinvar and we are all available for adoption.
If you would like to meet any of us please contact my foster mum. Her name is Renee and you can email her at renlou1980@gmail.com.
My adoption fee is $450 and this includes my desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, and microchipping. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
