About Elliott
Elliott and Eddie are the last two left of the E team. They are Terrier/ border collie cross, they came from a property near Valla Beach with a large group of puppies. They have lovely personalities but typical puppies who need to continue their socialisation, attend puppy school and go on to do basic training such as basic manners, basic obedience and basic agility. Elliott is quite anxious which we hope we will help him grow out of over time. Elliott can be a bit fearful and reactive when on a leash. We are staying away from narrow paths that have no escape routes. Our advice is not to put Elliott dog into a situation where he has no choice but to react due to not having any space to turn to. I watch his body language especially his tail to see if it is low-set and wagging gently and softly which means that all is ok. If I see another dog or human on a narrow path I move Elliott away or turn his head away so that he does not react. If he stays calm while in this situation I treat him or stroke his ears which he loves. He needs a patient loving owner who understands his needs and he will soon put his anxiety and fears behind him. He is desexed micro-chipped and Immunised.
Adoption details
HappyPaws Haven is fussy about who adopts these animals and where they are housed and cared for. The adoption criteria is documented as a questionnaire and strictly adhered to. We do not adopt animals to people who rent unless they are long term rental at the same address and have landlords written permission.
We ask if they have thought about the attributes they want in a dog, lifestyle, childrens ages, prepared to train, etc. We also talk about responsible pet ownership, \ fully fenced yards, hours unattended etc. and finally a vet reference.
