Sweet, low maintenance and affectionate - Pearl is a mature cat who is so grateful to be feeling safe in foster care that she purrs and kneads constantly. This lovely lady has been fed for years by a family who resided near her original owners. The original owners recently left town so it became clear that Pearl was no longer considered part of the family. The family who she had "adopted" have a daughter with allergies and so she couldn’t come inside and be included. There had been a number of stray cats harassing her as of late, so for her welfare she was brought to SAFE. She was vet checked and a heart murmur was discovered. She has lived with this condition for many years so all agreed that she just needs a loving home indoors until it is "her time". Pearl greets her carers at the door when they come home and loves to jump up on their laps for a cuddle. She hangs out where the human action is. Pearl is so excited to see her carers in the morning that she does laps of the house! It is heartwarming to know how happy she is now to be inside and included as part of a loving foster home. I am so glad that I trusted my "gut feeling" when euthanasia was suggested as an option.
