About Luke
Please meet the handsome Luke who was born on Star Wars Day, May the 4th, hence the name. Luke is a confident outgoing pup who loves belly rubs, playing with his toys and sleeping for extended periods of time on his warm comfy bed (or your bed). Luke loves to follow everyone, especially the kids, because he does not want to miss out on anything. He enjoys exploring his outside environment, his food and hanging with the host dogs. Surrendered to Wally's at 4 weeks old with his sister Leia because they were not getting enough nourishment from their mother, Luke was syringe fed and has grown into a beautiful healthy boy. Currently in foster care with 4 other dogs, 3 kids and adults, Luke gets along with everyone and his new best friends are a 9 month old Great Dane who he absolutely adores and a 9 week old puppy. Luke loves to rough and tumble with both of them and at feeding time he shows no signs of food aggression. We feel that Luke would benefit to a home with another doggie playmate or in an environment where he will have plenty of social interactions with other dogs.
Luke has met a dog friendly kitten and was indifferent to the experience. We have also taken Luke for walks to the duck pond and fed the ducks. He was really good in that situation and was more interested in eating the bread than chasing the ducks.
Luke is an absolutely gorgeous boy who is very easy going, laid back and responds well to routine.
Luke, while a small puppy now, will grow into a very large dog and needs a confident owner that can give him leadership and training so he can be an active member of the community. Puppy school is highly recommended and ongoing socialising with adults, kids and other dogs would also be beneficial. Luke is still in the process of toilet training but he still has some accidents.
To kickstart Luke's training, Wyong Dog Training Club will provide 3 FREE dog training sessions
http://wyongdogtrainingclub.org.au/. So please be sure to utilise this awesome gift which will benefit both you and Luke.
Adoption details
Please contact Bianca via email only should you wish to meet Luke. Email will ensure a faster response.
When enquiring about Luke, please give us some indication of the type of home that he would have with you. We are interested in things such as other animals (past and present), children who may have contact with the dog, whether you own or rent your home, what opportunities for socialisation outside the home your dog would have, how much you/someone is home and most importantly, why you feel this pup may be suitable for you.
Wally's Dog Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family.
Luke is located on The Central Coast of NSW and will be available for adoption from the 14th July after he has received his 2nd vaccination and has been desexed.
