About Keesha **special needs puppy**
Meet our sweet little girl Keesha.
This very special little girl is very timid and will take some time to settle into her new environment. Keesha hasn't had the best start to life and so will need to go to a special family who can provide her with ongoing love and training until she gains her confidence.
Keesha has made a lot of progress in her foster home and is a good listener. She knows sit, fetch, come, toilet, touch, up and is learning wait. She's still unsure about humans, but loves her foster mum who has gained her trust.
She loves playing and will spend ages outside playing fetch and running around. She's not quite toilet trained yet, but as long as she has access to outside she does well. Treats are her best friend and this will help a lot with her training.
She walks well on lead and enjoys going out for walks. Initially she can be scared of other dogs and show some fear aggression, but once they are past the initial stage she loves her doggy pals. She's very curious about the world but just needs some confidence to get out there so she can start exploring.
Keesha's foster family are completely in love with her cuteness and puppy ways and know that with time and the right guidance she will bloom into the best little dog. She has a lot of love inside her, which she's bursting to give. She has already come so far in a short space of time and we can't wait for this little munchkin to feel safe and live the wonderful life that she deserves!
As you can see by the video attached, once she feels safe with her new humans and environment she is lovely and has a very sweet and funny personality- it will just take lots of time and patience to get her to this stage.
For the time being she would best be suited to a home without other animals or small children until she has settled in received the training she needs to feel confident again.
Her new family must be able to commit to the following:
- an abundance of patience and love
- ongoing obedience training
- lots of slow socialisation with other dogs when she is ready
- have someone home a lot and/or a home with a calm dog who can guide Keesha and who she can look up to and trust
- someone who can walk her daily and play lots with her
- we don't recommend a home with small children
Do you think you have the right home for this puppy to feel safe in?
