About Sooky ~ On Trial 17/12/15
Hi my name is Sooky and I am a 3 year old Boxer X. My foster mum says I’m super sweet! With me around she never gets lonely, she loves it when I have a chat with her and she is constantly laughing at my crooked smile, though I don’t know why this is so funny to her!
My foster mum says I get my playfulness from my boxer side and my loyalty from my staffy side. Anyway, all I know is I’m glad I didn’t get that squashed up face I could have ended up with!
I love to play outside in the yard - running around with my foster sister and playing with my chew toys. I also love to potter around in the garden and relax in the sun. I don’t dig or try to escape cause I’m a good girl. I don’t bark much either, but I will let you know when a visitor arrives.
I do like to come inside when my foster family is home as I enjoy being where ever my human family is. I am toilet trained when I'm inside - I'll use the doggy door to take myself outside when nature calls.
I don’t mean to talk myself up, but I am pretty smart. I never had any training until I came into foster care and I love learning. I already know how to "sit", "down" and "stay". I also learned ‘leave it’ (boring!) and I will sit for my dinner. Speaking of dinner, I have great manners and am really helpful, if my foster mum forgets what time my dinner is, I go and have a chat with her to reminder her. I am not pushy, I just like helping. I know she likes our chats, she is always smiling at me when I talk to her. I also love going for walks and figured out that it’s more fun for everyone when I behave on the lead.
I like other dogs and currently live with my canine foster sister. We get on great and I like playing with her, but I really love people, so I would be happy to go to a home as an only dog, as long as I have someone to love and spend time with and play with. I am happy to spend my days outside, but would really like to sleep inside. I also get a bit scared when there are storms, so would really like it if you let me inside if it gets too scary, I promise I settle down once I know I am safe.
I like cats - a little too much I’m told (mwah ha ha). Because of this my foster mum says I shouldn’t go to a home that has cats. I do love people though, and I get a bit excited at first and forget that I’m not supposed to jump up to say hello, so I probably would be best suited to a home with older children as I may accidentally knock a small child over. I do try to be good through, and if you give me some patience and love, I recon I can learn anything!
All I really want is someone to love and someone to play with. If you think this sounds like you, please give my foster mum Amy a call on 0423 869 375 or email amyturnbull_@hotmail.com. I am in foster care near Gosford NSW (Central Coast) and available for interstate adoption.
My adoption fee is $300 and includes my desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
