About Titus
Whilst we can't be exactly sure what breed Titus is (he came in as a stray from a pound), he looks very much like a Miniature Bull Terrier x. Apart from lacking the roman nose, his body and pricked ears are uncannily like a Mini Bull Terrier! He also has the beautiful, loving and fun-loving nature you'd expect in this breed.
Titus is as sweet as they come - he loves to play and he adores a cuddle. He must go to a home where he can be inside and part of the family as he hates being locked out and excluded. He likes to play with other dogs but can be a bit bossy on first introduction. He is never mean or snappy, but needs to work out where he stands with other dogs who are bigger then him. He is fantastic with little dogs. Titus does chase cats so we would recommend he go to a home without cats.
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heart worm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Titus had terrible flea allergy dermatitis on his back and was missing hair when he came into care however this is growing back nicely and with weekly malaseb baths his coat is shiny and looking good. His teeth are very worn however our vet cleaned them and decided not to pull out the worn teeth. Our veterinarians advice was that they are causing Titus no discomfort and extracting so many teeth would be very painful and traumatic for him.
Adoption details
The first step to adopting a dog from us is to fill out an expression of interest form.
We encourage you to provide as much detail as possible about your family and your home as this helps us make sure we match you with the most suitable dog.
This form can be found at the following address: http://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/12529dMiAly65p5nEdDC
Please note: we do not organise any meet and greet without a completed expression of interest form.
Our adoption process involves:
1) Completing online application form
2) Arranging a meet and greet with the dogs foster carer, after which we ask you to take 24 hours to make a decision about whether you want to adopt this dog
3) A brief home visit and yard check from one of our volunteers
4) Adoption trial spanning four weeks.
We ask that you pay the dogs adoption fee at the beginning of the adoption trial, however this will be refunded if for any reason the dog is not working out in your home within the four week period. We offer a four week adoption trial to make sure that you have plenty of time for your new dog to settle into your home and so we can offer you full support during this period and beyond.
We offer a free health check with our vets at Indooroopilly or Moorooka vet clinic after you’ve adopted your dog and every dog in our care is up to date with all vet work.
We have many dogs that are in foster care and are not yet ready to be listed for a variety of reasons. If you have a good idea of what you are looking for in your new dog please email us at chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com and let us help you match a dog to your needs.
