About Scout *On Trial in Her New Home*
*SCOUT IS CURRENTLY TRIALING HER NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* Looking for a friendly, affectionate, medium to large breed pup who’s eager to learn and please her humans?? Then you can’t go past pretty-girl Scout!!
Recently rescued from our local pound, where she’d ended up through no fault of her own, Scout is described as a relaxed and easy-going pup who’s not at all licky or in your face. We’re not sure what breeds she’s made up of though our vets think there’s Labrador and perhaps some German Shepherd as she has some dark markings on her fur including a set of “angels wings” which suit this delightful girl to a tee!
Scout didn’t appear to have had any training when she arrived in care a little over a week ago though she is a bright girl who is keen to learn and has easily picked up “sit” – it certainly helps that she loves food especially treats! She’s even learnt to walk on a lead and enjoys getting out and about on her daily walk. Loveable Scout does jump up a little when she’s excited although she’s responding well to a firm “down” though because of this we wouldn’t recommend her to a home with toddlers as she could accidentally bowl the littlies over.
In foster care with an older male dog, who she is respectful to, and a young female Rottweiler, Scout adores the company of other dogs. She and the Rotti love to play or just lie around together soaking up the winter sun. As she is housetrained she likes coming inside to spend time with her foster family especially at night while they watch tv and is learning to lie on a mat with the other dogs. She’s interested in the household cats though hasn’t given chase and it’s easy to distract her attention away from them especially when pats and cuddles are involved. Her yard adjoins the chook pen yet she’s shown no interest in them proving herself to be quite the well-mannered young girl.

As Scout is housetrained and sleeps inside in a crate at night she would be best suited to an indoor / outdoor lifestyle with either a doggie companion to learn from or on her own but only if she won’t be left alone for long periods of time as she’s used to having company, so a retiree or stay-at-home mum or even someone who works from home would be perfect. Being a young pup she will require ongoing obedience training as well as socialisation with other dogs so she grows up to have lovely manners. Daily walks, secure fencing, bones to chew on and lots of love will make Scout very happy indeed!!

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
