About Sammy
Sammy is a gorgeous young energetic who deserves an amazing forever home.
The poor boy hasn't had the best start to life, he ended up in a pound in rural Victoria.
He was saved the day he was due to be put down and made the long trek to Melbourne, smelly and a bit too skinny.
Fast forward a few weeks, he's a happy and looking much healthier!
The pound said he was very timid around other dogs, but from the moment he landed in foster care, he's not been shy at all!
Currently he is living with a Jack Russell Terrier and a greyhound.
He gets along very well with both, but absolutely loves Arnie, the Jack Russell... they just love to play with each other!
He has had a couple of other play dates with other dogs, at first he is a bit excited but soon settles down and has a good time running around.
We don't think Sammy had ever been properly walked on a lead so at first he wasn't very good at it.. now he is much better behaved but definitely needs a harness as he can be quite strong.
We think that the best home for him would be where he can get lots of human attention, he's not a fan of his humans leaving him so would love if he can be involved in your everyday life.
Sam needs at least 2 walks a day to burn off all the energy has, he also needs toys like kongs to keep his active mind occupied. His breed is unknown but we think he is a Mastiff x Shar Pei.
He would also greatly benefit from being taken to obedience lessons, he seems to learn quick and already knows 'sit'
Due to his strength and energy, he is most likely suited to a family with no young children, not that he would hurt them intentionally but he would probably knock them over.
Sammy hasn't met any cats properly but has seen a few out on walks and a few kittens at the vet, he didn't seem to phased so may be okay. He would probably want to play with them so if he is to go to a home with a cat, the cat would need to be okay with that.
Sammy just really is a gorgeous boy, he will steal your heart the moment you meet him, and his favourite thing is cuddles!
